GETTING STARTED

How internet television works

Internet television delivers live and on-demand streams through your broadband connection. A compatible player receives your service details, organises available categories, and displays programme information when a guide is available.

The four parts

  • Your connection: broadband or a mobile network carries the stream.
  • Your device: a television, stick, box, phone, tablet, or computer.
  • Your player: the app that signs in and presents the guide.
  • Your service details: private credentials for your trial or active plan.

BEFORE YOU DECIDE

What to check before subscribing

A clear trial, responsive support, transparent expiry terms, and reliable performance on your own screen matter more than a large catalogue number.

Ask these questions first

  • Does the trial require payment or renew automatically?
  • How many simultaneous connections are included?
  • Which player suits your exact device model?
  • What happens when the plan expires?
  • How do you contact support when something needs attention?

NETWORK PREPARATION

Prepare the connection you will actually use

A test beside the router does not describe the connection behind a television in another room. Test on the same screen, in the same place, and near your normal viewing time.

A dependable starting checklist

  • Restart the router and viewing device before the first trial.
  • Pause large downloads, cloud backups, and other heavy activity.
  • Use 5 GHz Wi-Fi nearby and 2.4 GHz when range matters more.
  • Use Ethernet where practical for fixed televisions and boxes.
  • Keep the player and device software updated.

PLAN TERMS

Understand pricing and renewals

Compare the total price, service period, simultaneous connections, and included support. A lower monthly equivalent can still require a larger upfront commitment.

Before making a payment

  • Confirm the exact start and expiry dates.
  • Confirm whether renewal is automatic or requested separately.
  • Check included connections and the cost of extra screens.
  • Keep the payment confirmation and support conversation together.
  • Test before choosing a longer plan.

TROUBLESHOOTING

6 minute read

Fix buffering methodically

Change one thing at a time. This helps identify whether the problem comes from the network, device, player, or one individual stream.

Work through this order

  1. Try another category or stream and note what is affected.
  2. Close the player, reopen it, and refresh its playlist or guide.
  3. Restart the viewing device, then restart the router.
  4. Test that device and compare Wi-Fi with Ethernet if possible.
  5. Reduce quality temporarily to test the connection limit.
  6. Send support the device, player, affected item, and time.

FAMILY SETUP

4 minute read

Build a simpler family viewing setup

Before handing over the remote, check whether your chosen player supports favourites, separate profiles, hidden categories, subtitles, or a parental PIN.

A calmer shared screen

  • Create a short favourites list for everyday viewing.
  • Choose subtitle and audio preferences on each device.
  • Enable player-level parental controls where available.
  • Keep account credentials out of shared notes and public messages.
  • Use another connection when simultaneous viewing requires one.
